I believe the theme of she said yes is everyone can change. I think this because Cassie was a bad kid in middle school and some of high school. She talked about murdering people and killing herself she hung out with the wrong type of crowd. After her parents tried and tried to get her help it seemed like she would never change. She eventually did and was because of that one trip she went on with her youth group. This shows me that the any moment can change someone forever. When the author wrote about this moment when cassie changed it made me realize that somtimes it takes time for people to change and other times it can take a day, but everyone is capable of change. Another reason I believe the theme of the book is everyone can change is because how Cassie ended up like a sweet girl who did nothing but help and please others. Before she was rude, and disrespectful. In the begging of the book she said she had sold her soul to satan but in the end her soul really belonged to god. Cassie changed a lot in the book, and the book made me think more about how everybody can change.

My favorite character in the book she said yes is Cassie. She's my favorite character because she stands out to me the most. Cassie was a crazy girl in middle school and the beginning of high school. She talked about suicide and murder, she also was under the influence of a bad crowd. Mona her best friend at the time led Cassie to draw these disturbing drawings, listen to inappropriate music, and at one point they even planned a teachers murder together. Cassie was doing all of this because Mona was the only friend and she thought she would be all alone without her. She was then able to pull herself out of that bad place thanks to her parents.After a year or two she finally understood how bad what she was doing really was.Then she started making better friends and became very religious. She went from this crazy girl to this angel. In the book it said(Cassie said),or mentioned the reason she changed was for her brother and parents. I would have never been able to pull myself out of that mess like Cassie did. Another reason why she is my favorite character is because of what a great person she was. All of her friends told her parents after her death how she was an amazing listener, and how much she believed in god. I'm not such a good listener and not always as nice as she seemed to be. I admire Cassie she was so strong to be able to pull herself out of a bad time. She also was amazing because she was so kind. I would want to know her because of how strong and brave she was. She seems like a great role model.

The thing that stands out to me the most in a book is the characters. If I ever dislike like most of the characters in a book or the main character then I will most likely not enjoy the book. The reason the characters draw me too a book is because of there thoughts and actions. When the main character has a life that's different than my life or something I haven't experienced makes the book more interesting to me. If a character seems like there life is just ordinary and they have no dramatic twist in there life it makes the story boring. That is what makes the a book seem great to me. I mostly enjoy when a book includes many of the characters thoughts. To me reading there thoughts makes you feel like part of there life and like your actually living their life as well.

My favorite character is Lina from the book Between Shades of Gray by: Ruta Septeys. In this book Lina, the main character, has a normal life until Nazis' take her and her family away. It takes place in the holocaust. She had taken her life for granted before that night she was loaded in a trailer and sent away. After that she never had taken everything for granted ever again. She was so thankful for just a potato or some scraps from he garbage. She was my favorite character because she had to pull through so many hard times I can't even imagine. Both her parents died, and some days they never ate. Just the idea of having to go through what she did devastates me. In the end of the book and through out the book she became more thankful and appreciative. Not only that, but she became brave. She never let the Nazis know she was scared and never gave in to what they wanted. She stood strong and I admire her for that. She did things I could never have done in a million years.  When everyone thought she would never last and she wasn't brave she proved she had a right to live. That is the reason she is my favorite character because she had done something almost unimaginable.

My favorite book is The Hunger Games by Suzane Collins. I love this book because every page you turn there is a new twist. I also love how it takes place in the future it just make you think about how diffrent it is from now. Just thinking about that makes me drawn to the book.

I enjoy reading historical fiction because it  makes you think about some things that could really happen back then. Like a book I have read recently Shades of Gray. This book was about the horrors off the holocaust. It focused on a certain girl's family, Lina. Lina's family wasn't even Jewish. There was so many intresting parts to this book, but in the end it really made me become so thankful for having parents, having a sister, and being healthy, and having food and a roof over my head. Just reading about what happened or could have happened in the past intrigues me.

A book I have recently finished is Delirium by Lauren Oliver. This book is one of my all time favorites. It reminds me of the hunger games a little. It took place in the future and in the future love was forbidden. It was viewed as a disease also known as deliria. Being sympathetic was also viewed as a disease and if anyone would show sympathy they were known as sympathizer. They had found a cure for love, it was a procedure everyone at the age of eighteen was given. Everyone was paired up with a husband and there future was basically planned for everyone by people who work for the government. It was illegal to play certain music. They called people who did not have the procedure to remove the love from you. They would call people who ran away from the government and lived out in the woods hidden from the government and border control, the wilds. These people went without the government and believed in love. The main character, Lina, wanted a normal life living under government rules after having here mother killing herself at the age of six. The professionals say it was deliria and because of love. Ever since then she just wanted a normal life. Then when she was seventeen she feel in love with a boy name Alex, from the wilds. She and him feel in love and planned to escape to the wilds together once Lina found out her mother never died and was imprisoned for her belief in love. Days before the runaway they were caught and Hannah was held by here own will and tied up waiting to get the cure for deliria(procedure done). Alex was caught and Lina got away having to leave him behind.
